Maybe we were given messages that made us feel som Maybe we were given messages that made us feel something’s wrong with us. Usually it’s due to the other person’s unresolved emotional conflicts.

So we change ourselves to fit in, to avoid judgement, to keep ourselves “safe”.

But what happens is we betray ourselves.

We aren’t being true to us, we’re trying to be someone we’re not - which is stressful on the nervous system.

To boot, we’re likely hard on ourselves - with criticisms, shame, guilt & more.

But if we knew the truth about who we are, we’d realize we’re not broken at all. Those outdated beliefs & criticisms were based on misperceptions.

We can learn a new way. To see differently. Starting with supporting the nervous system to function differently.

Then supporting your spirit to shine its light of its true self. Instead of playing small. Instead of hiding those parts away you were led to believe were wrong. They’re not.

When you finally see all this, you realize just how empowered you truly are.

You no longer struggle in survival mode just trying to get by. You flourish & blossom into the beautiful soul you’re truly meant to be.

Start by shifting away from focusing on what’s broken. Give yourself grace. Pat yourself on the back for getting to where you are now. It’s the first step.

There’s so much talk about stress & how it affec There’s so much talk about stress & how it affects health. We often only think about the external stress that’s happening TO us, which makes us feel even more out of control.

But what about the stress we put on ourselves through our thoughts, habits, and even our relationship with ourselves? These, in my opinion, is even more important than those external stressors.

I’ve listed some examples that can cause internal stress in the slide. It’s not an exhaustive list. And it’s not meant to blame or shame in the slightest. 

It’s meant to raise awareness. Because the first step to positive change is being aware, because you can’t change what you can’t see.

Most of these things on the list we most commonly develop during our childhood - based on our experiences, what we learned, and what was modelled to us by others.

We developed ways of managing difficult situations that got us through whatever we did, but these “coping mechanisms” may not necessarily be helping us now.

More often than not, these tendencies, habits, and coping mechanisms are holding us back.

They’re causing us undue stress within, affecting our nervous system, and as a result, affecting the physiology of every single system in your body, from your immune system & hormones, to your digestive system & metabolism.

The beautiful part is you can turn all this around. The first step is noticing. Do you experience these things? Being honest with ourselves can be truly healing in many ways.

But also giving ourselves grace. Because these things helped us get to where we are now.

The nervous system is a very important piece of th The nervous system is a very important piece of the puzzle for overall health, especially for us with chronic illnesses like autoimmune or endometriosis.

Just like it’s important for our muscles to be toned & flexible, the same is important for the nervous system. It’s what keeps us well in many ways.

If the autonomic nervous system is NOT flexible, meaning you experience poor vagal tone, poor heart rate variability, or you’re stuck in sympathetic fight or flight or dorsal vagal freeze modes, studies show it has all sorts of negative effects on your physical body, including what’s listed on slide 1.

When you start teaching the nervous system to become more flexible, all sorts of benefits come from it, including better control over inflammation, pain, anxiety and depression, autoimmune conditions and endometriosis.

This is such an important & necessary step that it’s the very first thing I teach my own clients. It creates the foundation so everything else we do works better. It’s the first step to getting better control over fatigue, pain, digestive troubles, mood, and more.

When the nervous system is dysregulated, it can impact all the processes listed in the slide & so much more. This is especially important news for any of us with chronic illnesses like autoimmune or endometriosis.

When the nervous system is triggered, so is everything else.

The first step? Start creating nervous system flexibility - it takes the pressure off all the other systems & processes in your body.

It will also help you see, perceive, and manage stress much more easily, which, in turn, helps you keep your nervous system better regulated. It creates a positive cycle.

This is so important, it’s the first step I take my own clients through - it makes everything else work better.

Within the first month, they start seeing improvements in mood, energy, sleep, and digestion - because of this nervous system regulation work.
