You’ve been struggling with fatigue, bloating, pain, and stubborn weight that has either plateaued or just won’t budge or improve for anything, no matter how strict your diet is and no matter how many treatments or therapies you try.
Your digestion is off but you can’t get a sense as to what’s causing the problem. You’ve tried eliminating foods, and the results are so unclear. Sometimes a food is fine, but other times you bloat, or have troubles with diarrhea and/or constipation. And sometimes it triggers pain, headaches, cramps, or stiffness.
You’ve likely tried what seems like #allthediets, including gluten-free, dairy-free, Autoimmune Paleo (AIP), low-carb, Keto, all the way to meat-only Carnivore.
You may have seen some results, but they’re either short-lived or you’ve hit a plateau. Or you may have not seen any results at all, which doesn’t make sense to you, because you’ve seen so many others experience dramatic improvement by making these dietary changes. It’s all feeling frustrating and unfair.
For those who’ve gone Carnivore, maybe you’ve had some good results, but you’re feeling limited in your choices and you’re ready to reintroduce variety back into your diet again.
But you’re so reactive to foods, it feels next to impossible to see how you can ever enjoy a diverse diet again.
Or you’re afraid to put foods back in your diet again, because your tendency for stress-eating or emotional eating will send you down that dangerous slippery slope right back to where you were before.
And if you’re dealing with a chronic illness like endometriosis or an autoimmune disease, then you might feel like you have no control over your body, which has left you feeling defeated and hopeless. If you feel like I did, you likely feel exhausted, confused, frustrated, and so much older than you really are.
Doctors have told you either not to expect improvement because your condition is chronic, or they’ve told you they don’t understand why you’re suffering the way you are because lab tests are normal. Medications they prescribe don’t help, or the side effects are unbearable.
You don’t understand why you’re so exhausted. No amount of rest can shake this heavy cloak of fatigue that drapes over your life all day, while leaving you so tired you’re wired and staring at the ceiling in the middle of the night when you should be getting restful sleep.
You feel stressed, overwhelmed & irritable, and no matter how many bubble baths or yoga classes you attend, you just can’t seem to get control of your stress.
Other people’s moods, expectations, and criticisms affect you and how you feel, which just makes your stress levels a million times worse.
You have a hamster wheel of thoughts, worries, to-do’s and “what-ifs” whirring through your mind and no matter what you do, you just can’t turn it off.
When you don’t feel well, when nothing you try works, when you’re feeling hopeless and confused, that brain chatter just gets worse, to the point where sometimes you feel like you’re drowning in your thoughts.
To try to get back some control over your body, you try tightening up your diet even more, and you’re left feeling frustrated and defeated, yet again.
Don’t get me wrong, if you eat nothing but junk food, your body isn’t going to function very well.
Diet DOES play an important role.
But if you’ve whittled your diet down to a very limited window, you’re eating “clean”, and you’re following a dietary protocol to a “T” and still not getting anywhere, then you’re missing some very important puzzle pieces
You see, while dietary changes are helpful, if you don’t look deeper to the cause of the issue, you’re just managing symptoms.
When you just manage symptoms, you have to constantly commit to the restrictions, otherwise, the symptoms just come back. If you’ve been on the yoyo diet train, you know what I’m talking about
A major and common trigger for all of these issues is STRESS. Studies show this over and over again. But it’s the thing that’s too often ignored.
Stress is a major & common trigger for all sorts of symptoms, problems and conditions, including:
Exhaustion and fatigue
Irritability & unstable mood
And much more
More often than not, if you’ve tried all the diets and supplements and nothing’s budging, stress usually has a big part to play.
Stress can look like a lot of things. It can be feelings of anxiety or overwhelm with your day-to-day life, it can feel like too many difficult things at once coming at you all at once (hello 2020?), or a feeling of constant go-go-go without any rest or reprieve.
It can be unresolved emotions like anger, guilt, shame, grief, etc that are pushed down so deep that they’re festering in the background – but impacting your nervous system, so you don’t feel at ease. You may not even be aware that they’re there, nor understand why something doesn’t feel quite right.
If your doctor tells you your bloodwork is within normal limits, yet you feel terrible, stress may be a cause.
The thing is, if that chronic stress goes unchecked, over time, bloodwork may very well show signs of pathology. By that time, it’s much more difficult to get things back under control than if you nipped it in the bud.
These activities are just managing symptoms of stress, rather than getting to the root of how you think about and respond to stress and how your nervous system deals with stressful feelings.
When you uncover the roots of why you respond to life challenges the way you do, you can then TRANSFORM it into something so much better.
I work with women who’ve tried #allthediets and are still struggling with energy, bloating, weight, sleep, pain, digestion, and more.
Once we do the work to calm and soothe anxiety & irritability, train the nervous system to relax, create positive new life perspectives, troubleshoot & transform negative thoughts, and create a roadmap for a happy, fulfilling life, everything changes.
When you change your stress response, your body has a chance to recalibrate itself.
As a result, energy, sleep, and digestion improve. Pain eases, and weight releases naturally.
“Before working with Michelle I thought it was my weight that was the problem. I was struggling with so many issues. Poor sleep, poor digestion, uncontrollable weight gain, lethargy, anxiety, depression, and frequent infections. I had tried everything and I was at my wit’s end.
I had never considered that my weight was the consequence of EMOTIONAL weight I had been carrying for years. I’ve learned so much about myself along the way and was able to reflect on why I developed the unhealthy coping mechanisms I had and why my body had been responding the way it was.
My life has changed completely. Not one aspect is the same, and all for the better. My weight has gone down, nearly all my symptoms have disappeared, but most importantly, I have changed on an emotional level. I have made huge strides professionally and personally since starting my work with Michelle. I feel as though I am who I was always intended to be. I am the best version of me. Someone who is in control and more at peace than I have felt for years. Michelle helped provide me with the tools to get there and begin healing from the inside out.
If I had not started working with Michelle, I would still be struggling with anxiety, depression, and an extensive list of growing health issues that I felt absolutely no control over and hopeless to combat”.
My name is Michelle Dowker, I’m a Naturopathic Doctor turned Empowerment Coach & Transformation Facilitator.
My formal education background includes an Honours Bachelor of Science in biomedical science, a Master of Science in human biology & nutritional science, both from the University of Guelph, Canada, and a four-year Naturopathic Doctor diploma, from the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Canada.
I’ve also accumulated a wide variety of additional experience from informal education, from teachers such as herbalists, acupuncturists, reiki practitioners, Shaman healers and Buddhist nuns.
I understand how frustrating it is to deal with unrelenting symptoms like fatigue, bloating, and pain. I myself have endometriosis and an autoimmune condition.
After a series of major stressors in my life, my conditions had flared and I had declined so badly I was bed-bound for months with pain, exhaustion, bloating, dizziness, nausea, and so much more. My life was slipping away. I’d tried everything I could think of given my knowledge as a Naturopathic Doctor, but nothing was working.
I stumbled across the Carnivore diet, which got me back on my feet again within days. It felt like a miracle. This experience taught me a lot about many concepts that aren’t yet taught in mainstream nutrition.
However, even after months of following the diet religiously, I wasn’t feeling 100%. And I was so sensitive to foods, reintroduction was impossible.
Natural supplements to heal my gut and immune system were somewhat helpful, but I was still not feeling as good as I knew I could. I had to be honest with myself and explore the true root of the trigger that made me so sick in the first place: STRESS.
While mindset work and stress management has been a part of my practice with patients and clients for well over a decade, it’s hard to see your own blindspots. It’s like trying to see the forest when you’re amongst the trees.
So I hired a mindset coach to help me uncover & heal some important things I was having trouble seeing on my own, and improve my own perspective and stress responses, and finally heal unresolved trauma I hadn’t yet addressed.
With this work that I did and continue to do (because it’s a lifelong journey), I’ve been able to reintroduce foods again. I don’t need to be chained to a 100% Carnivore diet for the rest of my life, which, at one point, I thought I was destined to have to do.
More importantly, I feel calm and in control of myself and my life, health, and my body – more so than I have in my whole life. And my clients I work with tell me the exact same thing once we start this process together.
Out of the dietary changes I made, the supplements I took, and the mindset work I did, it was the latter I realize now was the most important.
Diet & natural supplements were supportive and helped me better manage the symptoms I was experiencing, but the root of the matter was the stress and emotions, and I didn’t fully resolve the issue until I did the work to transform this key piece of the puzzle.
My clients have similar realizations once they transform doing the work with me: that diet isn’t the problem – the true root of their physical symptoms comes down to stress and emotions, which is why diet and supplements only helped them up to a certain extent.
This is a piece of the puzzle most practitioners ignore, especially in the medical system. Often, they just don’t have the time. Or it’s not part of their wheelhouse of expertise. We all have different talents.
Some practitioners may suggest trying yoga or taking time for things like bubble baths. While these are, no doubt, relaxing activities, they too, are just managing symptoms.
When you dive deep and transform how you think about and respond to challenges in life and train your nervous system to function more flexibly, that’s when things change. Stress doesn’t build up and affect your body in the same way.
When you start to understand that you have control over your body and mind, and more importantly, how to gain that control, it changes you on every level. When you start to feel in control, you become Empowered. When you’re Empowered, your life changes in every way.
This is the work I do with my clients. They tell me all the time how much more in control they feel, not only of their body and their symptoms, but their whole lives. Not only is their energy, sleep, pain and digestion improved, but they feel like they’ve finally moved out of survival mode – they tell me they feel like they’re thriving now, with a sense of purpose and joy. They truly flourish.
As a highly sensitive person (HSP), I’m able to pick up on nuances most people don’t see. I can detect patterns, emotions, and things hidden underneath the surface through listening to how you speak, what you say, and the way you say it.
Combined with my academic research and clinical experiences, this blend of talents helps me connect dots most practitioners don’t consider.
Trying to see it for yourself without outside help is very difficult to do – again, like trying to see the forest when you’re lost amongst the trees. Even I have my own coaches and mentors to help me continue to heal and grow.
I’ve been told over and over again by clients that I’ve helped them in ways no other practitioner has. I ask the important questions no one has ever considered, and put together pieces of their puzzle and connect dots they’d never been able to see before.
I’ve been told that not even therapists or counsellors they’ve seen have ever been able to “go there” to a place to help them see and transform themselves the way they have with me, and that they realize now was the thing they needed to truly heal.
I create lightbulb “aha” moments of life-changing clarity for my clients. When those moments happen, there’s an instant desire to do things differently. It doesn’t feel forced, it’s a natural progression that happens as part of the transformation process.
“There is such a difference between seeing someone who is trained to fix symptoms and someone who is trained to dig down to the root cause. Michelle was immeasurably supportive throughout the journey. It’s a nurturing process that leaves you feeling cared for and listened to.”
“I can’t think of anything that could improve this amazing program. Through her expertise and effective therapeutic presence, Michelle offered me exactly what I needed to uncover the sources of my physical struggles.
The best part of working with Michelle was benefiting from her generous and welcoming therapeutic style. She never failed to project kindness and patience during each session. Michelle would consistently seek to understand me, which was refreshing after years of feeling misunderstood by medical professionals.
Michelle’s patience and professionalism enabled my experience to be enjoyable and very productive. I always felt very seen and valued. Her greatest gift is applying her extensive knowledge to intuitively meet the client where they are as opposed to imposing on the client uniform “cookie cutter” solutions.
I would highly recommend Michelle to any friend who is struggling with persistent physical problems that have not been adequately resolved within a traditional medical setting. From my experience, she will tenuously work to discover solutions to address problems that have baffled other medical professionals. My physical and emotional healing would not have happened without her kind and knowledgeable intervention. I am very thankful.”
This 6-month transformational journey is an investment in the low-to-mid-4-figure range. Monthly payment plans are available to make this transformation more accessible.
This investment in yourself and the transformation you’ll achieve not only benefits your health, but your whole life in every way – not just for now, but for the rest of your life.
This program improves not only your sense of sense of calm, confidence, and happiness, but the quality of all of your relationships in every aspect. Pain and flare days become few and far between if not non-existent, and if they do arise, you’ll handle them more easily, and they pass much more quickly. Weight naturally releases without having to fight for it.
You’ll not only feel more energetic and clear-headed, you’ll be in control of pain, bloating, and any other symptoms, as well as feeling in control of every aspect of your life.
Clients start to feel the benefits in a matter of weeks, sometimes even days, and continue to feel better and better throughout the course of the 6-month program.
Women who have gone through this program have not only gotten control over physical symptoms and conditions, but have healed failing marriages, connected in a more profound way with their family, found more fulfillment from their jobs, got back to participating in favourite hobbies and discovered new ones, and even received raises at work as a direct result of their new & improved outlook, attitude, and performance.
“I was really struggling with symptoms of peri-menopause — hot flashes, reflux, sleep disturbances, weight gain/inability to lose weight, and depression and anxiety. At first, the dietary guidance and supplement recommendations helped alleviate my symptoms almost right away. I began to feel physically better — sleeping better, fewer hot flashes, less anxiety, less inflammation, and weight loss.
As time went on, Michelle helped me really dig into the primary causes of stress in my life and my emotional responses to them. I now recognize the role of stress as a primary driver of my system’s imbalance. Michelle gave me really useful tools that helped me find my way to self-forgiveness, acceptance, and love. Over time, I felt better, stronger, happier. I’ve been able to move beyond stress management and into cultivating joy and fulfillment in my life.
Michelle is such a good listener and gentle, compassionate person. I found that I was able to talk with her about any issue in my life, and she was able to connect the dots for me in a way that was kind, non-judgemental, and encouraging. She helped me get to the source of my issues instead of just treating the symptoms.
It’s unique to find someone who is so holistically knowledgeable about diet and nutrition as well as emotional and spiritual aspects of good self care and well-being – with concrete strategies, tools, and techniques for both. I appreciate that Michelle has had first hand experience with using diet and nutrition to heal her own physical ailments — she really gets it.
If I were speaking to a friend who’s considering working with Michelle, I’d want them to know that they can trust her. She is deeply knowledgeable and experienced, and takes a lot of time with each client. They will get the extensive one-on-one attention that is very hard to come by from other healthcare practitioners.
If I hadn’t worked with Michelle, I’d still be focused only on losing weight – as if that is the only thing that would help me feel better. I know now that weight loss is a side effect of holistic wellness, not the other way around.
It’s been an incredible journey and very much worth the financial investment. I’m changed for the better and will use the tools and recommendations provided to me for the rest of my life.”

“My health was deteriorating and I was stuck. I had been jumping from diet to diet over the years, yo-yoing my weight and ruining my digestion. My digestion had become so damaged that I started getting a reaction to every food except meat. I believed food was the enemy and did ridiculously long fasts that only worsened my health.
I had cut out everything besides meat and desperately wanted to introduce back whole foods but had no idea how to start. I had tried reintroduction on my own but lacked guidance and it always landed me in a worse state than when I had started and back on the carnivore diet. This left me extremely fearful of trying any food aside from meat.
After damaging my body from cycling through diets, restricting food and overexercising, I had come to the conclusion that all food was bad. I was stuck eating as little food as possible and fasting for as long as I could. I was somehow convinced this would heal my body and make me healthy. As you could imagine, I was miserable.
First, Michelle addressed why I came to have these issues and techniques to deal with them. This involved a lot of self-reflection, journaling, spiritual work and lastly some diet adjustments. Michelle helped me regain the confidence and self love I was searching for.
I learned how to properly reintroduce food back into my diet. I found this to be so useful. I am no longer afraid of food. I had struggled for 8 years before seeing Michelle.
Before working with Michelle, I believed my health issues were only caused by food. I thought if I just learned how to eat, I would become healthy.
Quickly I learned through our sessions that it was much deeper than just food. Michelle listened to my concerns and worked with me every session to help me regain my health. She’s gifted at targeting the source of the health issue.
If I hadn’t started working with Michelle, I’d still be thinking I was allergic to every food besides meat. Fortunately, I came across Michelle who personally dealt with a lot of similar health issues. She healed herself using the practices she teaches in her program.
Now, my mental and physical health is improving day by day. The program cost is a very small price to pay for lifelong advice on how to maintain good health. My time and energy no longer needs to be wasted on searching for the next best diet!”
For a large proportion of us who’ve been dealing with mystery symptoms, chronic illness, and issues that just won’t budge no matter what you try, stress and emotions have a huge part to play.
If this sounds like what you need as your next step on your journey to finally feeling and looking like you again – calm, confident and comfortable in your body, give yourself the gift of transformation and apply today.
All of these mindset habits we’ve adopted for a reason – to protect ourselves in some way, to survive whatever we have gone through in our lives. This usually starts during our developmental years, without our conscious awareness of it.
So pat yourself on the back for getting through whatever you did. You made it!
But these “coping mechanisms” that got you through are likely now the things that are holding you back – from experiencing peace and calm, energy and vitality, and from feeling and looking the way that you truly desire.
Part of what I do is help you see and understand which unproductive thought habits are keeping you from achieving the goals that you want, and feeling your best, both emotionally and physically.
When you start to see what yours are, and most importantly, why they developed in the first place, it’s like a lightbulb “aha” moment of clarity. When you see it clearly, you’ll instantly feel motivated to want to look at it differently, and learn a new way.
I help you find that new way. That will bring you a sense of happiness, peace, and fulfillment like you’ve never experienced. And as a side benefit of everything falling into place both emotionally and physically, energy and digestion improves, pain eases or resolves, and weight naturally balances.
While I’m unable to provide refunds for session time already used, to provide you with peace of mind, should you truly feel the program is not the right fit for you and you qualify as per the details explained below, remaining 1:1 sessions will be reimbursed.
In order to receive reimbursement, you must have given this program an honest shot and tried the suggestions provided to you. This will be determined via an exit application.
I am so confident of the transformation provided in this program that if we both confirm this program is a right fit for you through the application process, you won’t feel the need to request a reimbursement for remaining sessions. Not one client has taken me up on this policy to date, but this policy will hopefully provide you with peace of mind for your investment in yourself and your transformation.
The coaching program lasts approximately 6 months. Sometimes life changes the frequency of our visits, making them either closer together or further apart, but the average length lasts 6 months.
While clients start seeing improvements in symptoms like energy, pain, bloating, sleep, digestion, and mood within the first weeks and months of the package, six months is required to accomplish the deeper mindset transformation work. This is not something that happens overnight. With each session we “peel off layers of the onion” to unveil your true essence and find your way to true healing. This is what delivers long-term, sustainable results that last a lifetime.
All sessions last between 60-90 minutes in length.
The package includes an initial deep-dive assessment, an action plan follow-up every two weeks for two sessions, then monthly power sessions for the remainder of the 6 months to develop and grow the mindset transformation work, totalling 8 sessions.
You have 1 year to use your sessions in the package.
Sessions are usually done over Zoom video calls. You will have the option to record your sessions so you can refer back to them whenever you like.
Should you have questions or concerns between sessions, you can send Michelle an email to the email address she will provide you. She will respond within 24-48 hours, with responses up to twice per week as required.
Michelle is there to guide you and help you develop the plan, tools, and inner knowing that will help you get the results you desire.
You’ll be expected to attend your sessions and arrive on time, and be open and willing to share with Michelle — the changes you’re experiencing between sessions, as well as a willingness during sessions to talk about stress and life experiences, and an openness to look at things in a different way.
Michelle will suggest activities, exercises, and tools for you to try and practice between sessions. While you are never forced to do anything you don’t want to, the more you implement the suggestions given, the more likely you’ll be to experience results.
What’s expected of you is to take responsibility to take back control of your life and your health. Michelle will guide you towards knowing exactly how to do that. You need to be willing to walk with her along this path and participate in order to achieve results. It’s a gentle, guided, and personalized journey, so have no fear. You just have to show up for it.
This package isn’t for everyone. It’s for the woman who’s willing to dive deeper than diet and supplements — to explore, connect to, and heal the emotional roots of physical symptoms. This takes a level of openness and willingness that not everyone is ready for or looking for. This is not a magic pill or a quick fix. But for the person who’s ready, it provides life-changing transformation in innumerable ways.
As well, I only work with people who’ve already tried a minimum level of change to their diet. The reason why is because there’s so much improvement *some* people experience with dietary adjustment, that I want to ensure you’ve already tried that path.
While we do discuss dietary tweaking, personalization and troubleshooting in the program, with lots of recipes and menu planning ideas, there’s not enough time allotted to teach the bare basics. There’s an expectation that you already have some experience with making changes, and have tried at minimum gluten- and dairy-free. Preferably you have experience with paleo, AIP, low-carb or Keto, and I have a special focus on helping women who’ve gone carnivore, just like I had.
This program is deep and transformative, and with each session I provide with my clients, I am there 100% with my focus and energy. For this reason, I’m only able to hold space for a limited number of clients at a time, and only take on a small number of clients each month.
Therefore, I want to make sure the people I take on are a fit, and I want to make sure that you also feel like this program is a fit for you. It works both ways. The best way to determine this is through an application process.
This is a unique approach that addresses an often ignored but extremely important root cause of mysterious and relentless fatigue, bloating, pain, stubborn weight, autoimmune conditions, and endometriosis.
The stress response can affect body physiology in innumerable ways, which can worsen symptoms and even trigger them in the first place. This is what’s called the root cause.
Looking at and addressing this important root cause is important to attain true control over symptoms of these conditions, rather than just suppressing them.
The problem is, symptoms will come back once you stop suppressing them if you don’t get to the root. Doing this is like putting duct tape over a “check engine” light so you don’t have to see the flashing light. It’s more effective long-term to actually go in and find what the problem is and correct it. The check-engine light will stop flashing, and the car will run much better, for a lot longer.
For this and many other reasons, Empowered You is different than the majority of programs out there for women who are looking for help to manage their weight, improve their energy, or manage conditions like autoimmune or endometriosis.
Getting to the root causes by addressing the immune system, gut health, hormones, stress and mindset, and so much more, you’ll achieve a level of transformation that you won’t experience from a five-minute appointment in the medical system.
And if you’ve seen naturopathic or functional medicine practitioners, they will often address the physical root causes, but often ignore the emotional roots, including stress and mindset, and more often than not, don’t take the time to really dive in to creating a true mindset transformation.
Stress management is much more than just doing some yoga poses. It’s transforming how you perceive, think about, and respond to stress in the first place.
And if you’ve tried what seems like all the diets, including AIP, Keto, and especially Carnivore, you know that while dietary choices are important, it’s not the whole picture.
This Approach in Empowered You gets right to the roots so that you can not only feel in control of your health, but your entire life.
